Japan: Now And Then

after the disasters happened in Japan, for me it is hard for them to raise up again.
we need to help each other country to country because our wolrd is ours. no other owns it but us ! (:
we should take care of our environment so that we can prevent disasters like tsunamis and earthquakes. ^^v

WetLands

A swamp is a wetland that is forested Many swamps occur along large rivers where they are critically dependent upon natural water level fluctuations. Other swamps occur on the shores of large lakes. Some swamps have hammocks, or dry-land protrusions, covered by aquatic vegetation, or vegetation that tolerates periodic inundation. The two main types of swamp are "true" or swamp forests and "transitional" or shrub swamps. In the boreal regions of Canada, the word swamp is colloquially used for what is more correctly termed a bog or muskeg. The water of a swamp may be fresh waterbrackish water or seawater. Some of the world's largest swamps are found along major rivers such as the Amazon, the Mississippi, and the Congo.
Conservationists have worked hard to preserve swamps. For example, the swamps in Northwest Indiana have been preserved as part of the Indiana Dunes.

Florida swamps include a variety of wetland habitats. Because of its high water table, substantial rainfall, and often flat geography, the U.S. state of Florida has a proliferation of swamp areas, some of them unique to the state.

Carbon Cycle

Our group reported about carbon cycle.
The carbon cycle is the biogeochemical cycle by which carbon is exchanged among the biosphere, pedospheregeospherehydrosphere, and atmosphere of the Earth. Along with the nitrogen cycle and thewater cycle, the carbon cycle comprises a sequence of events that are key to making the Earth capable of sustaining life; it describes the movement of carbon as it is recycled and reused throughout the biosphere.
The global carbon budget is the balance of the exchanges of carbon between the carbon reservoirs or between one specific loop of the carbon cycle. An examination of the carbon budget of a pool or reservoir can provide information about whether the pool or reservoir is functioning as a source or sink for carbon dioxide.

i've learned a lot in this topic, honestly. (:
if we are focusing to the lesson, it's so funny to know the different kinds of cylce in our environment.

Wrecked Earth ! :/

11th Hour.

Describe some of the emotions you felt during the film. which aspects of the video had the greatest impact on you and why?

-I feel mad about those people who are destroying our environment and feel sad to people whom are affected of it.Because even though we are the greatest creation of God and has the power and ability to use other God's creation we don't have the right to abuse it and wreck our environment.

What information contained in the video was new to you?

-None. I'm aware of all the information discussed in the movie and I'm very disappointed to those people who are trying to make the World end.

What topics presented in the film would you like to explore further? Do you know what you need to know in order to continue learning about environmental issues? if the answer to that question is no, how can you find out what you need to know ?

-I want to explore further about those factory that affects our oceans, sea and to the forest that are devastated by those illegal loggers.

Discuss the ways that eating locally produced food is an environmental issue. what can individuals do to support the local production and consumption of foods?

-The dynamite fishing and other animal killers just to fed themselves and survive. I suggest to limit the killing of animals specially those endangered species.

Who should see this film and for what purposes? who might be unreceptive to the ideas in the film and why?

-Government should see this film to stop it. Because they are only the people who have the power to make such decisions.

Share one issue or item that you wrote on your index card while you were watching the 11th hour.

-Deforestation. With just one tree cut, flood will appear in just a second.

As a result of your having seen this film, what, if any, specific actions do you think you will take?

-I will encourage people to plant trees to prevent floods and to avoid severe typhoons like yolanda so that disasters will be avoided.

Sustainability !

What is sustainability ?
For me, we humans, sustainability in my term, it is the potential for a maintenance of our well being, our nature, our economic life, and our industry. this is an attitude by most of us, that are concern in our environment. people that loves our nature specially who were born with no technology. because for them, during their times, rivers are still clean and many of them are taking a bath there and some are washing their clothes there.

How can you as a student contribute to sustainability?I can help and I will help to sustainability. by my self-service in school. I will put garbage in their responsible container. with that tiny help, i contributed a lot in environment on our school.
